At 235 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong thunderstorms near Lancaster, moving northeast at 45 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 30 mph and nickel size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. This strong thunderstorm will be near... Lancaster around 240 PM CDT. Other locations impacted by this storm include Big H Campground, Preston, Arthur, Montfort, Beetown, Union, Cornelia, Porters Bridge, Burton, and Lancaster Municipal Airport.

The walking path adjacent to the river in Webb Park and Smith Conservancy is mostly covered with water. The public works yard is under several inches of water. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 8:00 AM CDT Friday the stage was 13.5 feet. - Bankfull stage is 12.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage late this afternoon to a crest of 14.1 feet this evening. * WHAT...Dangerous swimming conditions are expected along the Lake Superior shoreline due to high wave action and strong rip currents. * WHERE...Minnesota Park Point and Wisconsin Point Beaches. * WHEN...Through this evening. * IMPACTS...High wave action can make swimming difficult on days such as this. Incoming waves in rapid succession can tire even an experienced swimmer quickly. Rip currents can usher you away from land. To avoid being swept away, swim parallel to the shore to exit a rip current.
