De Witt County in central Illinois... * Until 1215 AM CDT. * At 1023 PM CDT, broadcast media reported water over state route 10 from thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Up to 1.5 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Trained spotters reported. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Extensive cropland is flooded below the gauge near the LaGrange Lock Road bridge. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 8:45 PM CDT Saturday the stage was 18.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage late tomorrow evening to a crest of 22.6 feet Monday morning. With soils saturated from previous rainfall, this will lead to an increased risk of flash flooding.
