* WHAT...Heavy lake effect snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 6 and 12 inches and localized amounts of over 15 inches. Winds gusting as high as 45 mph this evening, decreasing to 20 to 25 mph gusts by Friday morning. * WHERE...Madison, Northern Oneida, Onondaga, and Southern Oneida Counties. * WHEN...Until 1 AM EST Saturday. * IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult to impossible. Areas of blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous conditions could impact the Friday morning and evening commutes.

* WHAT...Heavy lake effect snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 3 and 6 inches with up to 7-8 inches near the Oneida and Otsego County border. Winds gusting as high as 50 mph. * WHERE...Southern Herkimer County. * WHEN...From 7 PM this evening to 7 PM EST Friday. * IMPACTS...Plan on hazardous road conditions including during today's evening and Friday morning commutes. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches and result in reduced visibility and blowing/drifting snow. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Snowfall rates up to 1 inch per hour tonight into early Friday with the lake effect band impacting portions of the New York Thruway.
