A light wintry mix of snow, sleet, and rain will overspread the area this evening. Snow and sleet may coat the ground. Rain may freeze on some elevated surfaces. Precipitation will transition to rain through the later part of the evening. Temperatures in the lower 30s will rise into the middle 30s by later this evening. Slick spots are possible, especially on elevated and untreated surfaces including bridges and overpasses. Motorists and those venturing outside this evening should be cautious for any slick spots that they encounter.

Travel could be nearly impossible. The hazardous conditions could impact the Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning commutes. Significant ice accumulation on power lines and tree limbs may cause widespread and long-lasting power outages.
