Minor flooding developed along the river near Clay City earlier this morning, and is likely to persist for several days. Minor flooding on the lower reaches of the basin will develop this afternoon, and continue into early next week. Areas of fog will linger through noon, with locally dense fog during the next hour or two from I-55 northwest where the visibility may be near a quarter mile at times. The fog could lead to potentially hazardous travel conditions, so be sure to slow down if you encounter dense fog. Use low beam headlights if driving, and leave plenty of distance between you and the vehicle ahead.
