Wrap around moisture and cold air advection behind this mornings cold front will allow for light rain to transition to snow showers across higher elevations of the east Tennessee mountains and southwest Virginia late this afternoon into the overnight hours. Light snow accumulations of a dusting to around 1 inch is generally expected, however, locations at 3000 feet or higher could see isolated totals between 2-3 inches. Northwest winds will also be gusting up to 35 mph. Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the Thursday evening commute. Slow down and use caution while traveling.
