Flash Flood Warning issued May 6 at 4:04PM EDT until May 6 at 6:30PM EDT by NWS Pittsburgh PA

At 404 PM EDT, rain gauge reports near Mannington indicated thunderstorms had produced heavy rain of 1 to 2 inches. Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Gauges reported. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Mannington, Pine Grove, Jacksonburg, Farmington, Smithfield, Curtisville, Folsom, Big Run, Grangeville, Metz, Rachel, Carolina, Idamay and Reader.

Some thunderstorms will produce very heavy rainfall. * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible. * WHERE...Portions of North Carolina, including the following areas, Alleghany NC, Ashe, Surry, Watauga, Wilkes and Yadkin, southwest Virginia, including the following areas, Bland, Carroll, Grayson, Smyth, Tazewell and Wythe, and southeast West Virginia, including the following area, Mercer. * WHEN...Until midnight EDT tonight. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks.
