Flood Watch issued March 28 at 8:03AM EDT until March 29 at 3:00PM EDT by NWS Gray ME

A period of moderate to heavy rain is expected through Friday as low pressure moves up the coast. The rain will fall on a primed snowpack leading to significant melt. The combination of rain and snowmelt will increase flows in rivers and streams, some of which could reach critical levels. * WHAT...Flooding caused by rain and snowmelt continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of southwest Maine, including the following areas, Coastal York and Interior York and New Hampshire, including the following areas, Coastal Rockingham, Eastern Hillsborough, Interior Rockingham, Merrimack, Strafford and Western And Central Hillsborough. * WHEN...Through Friday afternoon. * IMPACTS...Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Rainfall of 1 to 2 inches with locally higher amounts is possible in the watch area. This in combination with 1 to 2 inches of snowmelt will lead to small stream flooding. Urban and low lying flooding is also possible.
