A period of moderate to heavy rain is expected through Friday as low pressure moves up the coast. The rain will fall on a primed snowpack leading to significant melt. The combination of rain and snowmelt will increase flows in rivers and streams, some of which could reach critical levels. * WHAT...Flooding caused by rain and snowmelt continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of southwest Maine, including the following areas, Coastal York and Interior York and New Hampshire, including the following areas, Belknap, Cheshire, Coastal Rockingham, Eastern Hillsborough, Interior Rockingham, Merrimack, Northern Carroll, Southern Carroll, Strafford and Western And Central Hillsborough. * WHEN...Through Friday afternoon. * IMPACTS...Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Special Weather Statement issued March 28 at 2:43PM EDT by NWS Caribou ME

Patchy to areas of fog will persist into this evening. The fog will be locally dense especially in elevated open areas where snowpack exists. Visibilities could change rapidly over short distances and will be reduced to a quarter mile or less at times. Slow down, maintain a safe distance between other vehicles and be alert for rapidly changing visibilities. Have your low beam headlights on for traffic visibility.

* WHAT...Small stream, creek and small river flooding caused by rain and snowmelt is expected. * WHERE...Portions of DownEast, East Central, North Central, and Northern Maine, including the following counties, in DownEast Maine, Washington. In East Central Maine, Penobscot. In North Central Maine, Piscataquis. In Northern Maine, Aroostook. * WHEN...Until 430 PM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1129 AM EDT, rain and snowmelt is occurring and expected to continue, and will cause minor flooding. This will cause small stream flooding. Rapid small river, creek and stream rises will cause minor flooding in the advisory area. Between 1 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen. Snowmelt of 0.5 to 1.5 inch or more has or will occur over the next several hours. - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1.5 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain plus snowmelt will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Lincoln, Bangor, Old Town, Howland, Danforth, Orono, Corinth, Milo, Veazie, Medway, Kenduskeag, Springfield, Licoln Township, Grand Falls, Lake View Plantation, Indian Island, Orneville, Wytopitlock, Reed Plantation and East Corinth. - For flood safety visit http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
