At 531 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over Hollywood, or near Union, moving east at 30 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... Union... Paint Bank... Laurel Branch... Craig Springs... Pickaway... Sweet Springs... and Hollywood.

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...A portion of Tazewell County in southwest Virginia. * WHEN...Until 715 PM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 502 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1.5 and 2.5 inches of rain have fallen. - This includes the following streams and drainages... Bluestone River, Clinch River, Burkes Garden Creek, Lick Creek, Blue Spring Creek, Little River, Laurel Creek and Deskin Creek. Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is expected. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Tazewell... Burkes Garden... Gratton... Asberrys... At 338 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 2 and 3.5 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.
