For the Kankakee River...including Shelby...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Kankakee River from US-421 south of La Crosse downstream to IN-49 south of Kouts, including the Dunns Bridge gauge. * WHEN...Until Saturday morning. * IMPACTS...At 10.0 feet, Low-lying agricultural land is inundated near the river. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 10:00 AM CDT Thursday the stage was 10.8 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 10:00 AM CDT Thursday was 10.8 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage early Saturday morning and continue falling to 6.0 feet Thursday, July 25. - Flood stage is 10.0 feet. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

This approaches the flood of record. * WHERE...Kankakee River from Near I65 and De Motte downstream to IL/IN state line, including the Shelby gauge. * WHEN...Until early Sunday morning. * IMPACTS...At 11.5 feet, Low-lying residences are threatened along Bluegrass Road and in Wildwood Estates east of Sumava Resorts. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 9:45 AM CDT Thursday the stage was 11.2 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 9:45 AM CDT Thursday was 11.2 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 11.2 feet this afternoon.
