FFWGID The National Weather Service in Hastings has extended the * Flash Flood Warning for... the Dannebrog area in Howard County in central Nebraska... * Until 800 PM CDT. * At 346 PM CDT, emergency management reported continued flooding in Dannebrog due to rising levels on the Oak Creek. Highway 58 in Dannebrog is closed, and sandbagging efforts continue around area homes. This is a result of thunderstorms that produced 3 to 6 inches of rain in the area Friday night. Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is expected. Flash flooding is already occurring. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Emergency management reported. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Expect many areas of slow moving or standing water. It will take several hours for all the water from these storms to work through local drainage systems. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 247 PM CDT, emergency management reported continued flooding in the warned area, especially along the Davis Creek in the Oscola area. This is due to thunderstorms and heavy rain Friday night. Flooding is already occurring. Between 1 and 4 inches of rain have fallen. - Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is expected. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Streams continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall. This includes the Silver Creek, Prairie Creek, and Clear Creek. It will take several hours for all the water from these storms to work through local drainage systems in urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 238 PM CDT, emergency management reported continued flooding in the warned area due to heavy rain and thunderstorms. Flooding is already occurring. Between 3 and 6 inches of rain fell Friday night - Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is expected. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Fullerton, Genoa, Palmer, Clarks, Silver Creek and Archer. - At 145 PM Sunday, the Silver Creek was at 8.5 feet and rising. Flood stage is 9 feet.
