* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...In Minnesota, in east central Minnesota, Aitkin County. In northeast Minnesota, Central St. Louis, Cook and northern Lake Counties. This includes the Tribal Lands of the Bois Forte Band, Lake Vermilion area, the Grand Portage Reservation and the Mille Lacs Band, East Lake and, Big Sandy Lake areas.This also includes the Boundary Waters eastern and central area. * WHEN...Through Wednesday morning. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - A stationary front will bring heavy rainfall which may lead to rapid runoff and flash flooding this afternoon through Tuesday night. Minnesota River at Montevideo affecting Lac qui Parle, Yellow Medicine and Chippewa Counties. .This forecast included 24 hours of QPF. If more rain falls than forecast, we could see additional rises on rivers. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and is forecast to continue. * WHERE...Minnesota River at Morton. * WHEN...Until Sunday afternoon. * IMPACTS...At 23.0 feet, Riverside Rd and Front Street flooded in North Redwood. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 900 AM CDT Tuesday, the stage was 22.2 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 900 AM CDT Tuesday was 22.3 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage Saturday evening and continue falling to 20.0 feet Tuesday, July 22. - Flood stage is 21.0 feet.

If more rain falls than forecast, we could see additional rises on rivers. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and is forecast to continue. * WHERE...Minnesota River at Montevideo. * WHEN...Until Monday morning. * IMPACTS...At 14.0 feet, Low lying areas and some roads along the river begin flooding, along with some basements of houses along the river. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 900 AM CDT Tuesday, the stage was 15.0 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 900 AM CDT Tuesday was 15.1 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage early Sunday afternoon and continue falling to 13.7 feet Tuesday, July 22. - Flood stage is 14.0 feet.

The Air Quality Index (AQI) is expected to reach the Red or Unhealthy category. * WHERE...Northeast Minnesota. * WHEN...Until 11 PM CDT Tuesday. * IMPACTS...Some members of the general public may experience health effects. Sensitive groups, such as people with lung disease (including asthma), heart disease, and children and older adults, may experience health effects. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Light winds will allow existing wildfire smoke across northern Minnesota to linger into this evening and overnight. Concentrations are expected to be highest along and near the shores of Lake Superior. An additional round of heavy surface smoke from wildfires across southern Canada is expected to transport into northern Minnesota on Tuesday.
