At 1025 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Brownsdale, or near Austin, moving east at 5 mph. HAZARD...Ping pong ball size hail. SOURCE...Public. 1024 PM CDT, quarter size hail was reported 5 miles east of Austin along Interstate 90. IMPACT...People and animals outdoors will be injured. Expect damage to roofs, siding, windows, and vehicles. Locations impacted include... Austin, Brownsdale, Lansing, Mayville, Mapleview, and Renova. This includes Interstate 90 in Minnesota between mile markers 175 and 192.

The storm which prompted the warning has weakened below severe limits, and no longer poses an immediate threat to life or property. Therefore, the warning will be allowed to expire. However, heavy rain is still possible with this thunderstorm. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until midnight CDT for southwestern Minnesota. To report severe weather, contact your nearest law enforcement agency. They will relay your report to the National Weather Service Sioux Falls.

Overflowing poor drainage areas. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 950 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Radar estimates 1 to 2 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are expected over the area.
