* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...A portion of central North Carolina, including the following counties, Davidson, Montgomery, Randolph and Stanly. * WHEN...Until 130 PM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1059 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to showers and thunderstorms continuously redeveloping over the same area. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Albemarle, Badin Lake, Plyler, Locust, Norwood, Badin, Oakboro, Denton, Stanfield, Richfield, New London, Morrow Mountain State Park, Whip-O-Will Campground, Newsom, Eldorado, Lake Tillery, High Rock and Uwharrie Haven. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

At 1039 AM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a thunderstorm with intense lightning and torrential rainfall 7 miles northwest of Indian Land, or near Carowinds, moving northeast at 10 mph. Locations to be impacted include... Uptown Charlotte, Central Charlotte, South Charlotte, Southwest Charlotte, East Charlotte, Northwest Charlotte, Fort Mill, Pineville, Tega Cay, and Freedom Park. Torrential rainfall rates up to 3 inches per hour will be possible in these areas.

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of piedmont North Carolina, including the following counties, Cabarrus, Mecklenburg and Union NC. * WHEN...Until 1230 PM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 929 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. - Expect rises on the headwaters of the following waterways: Twelvemile Creek in western Union County, McAlpine Creek in Mecklenburg County, Rocky River in Cabarrus County. Small branches and streams will likely be most impacted. - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
