Up to one half foot of saltwater inundation above ground level is possible in low lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways. Between 7.8 and 8.1 feet MLLW at the Pt Arena tide gauge is predicted. * WHERE...Mendocino Coast County. * WHEN...From 8 AM to noon PST Saturday. High tide is at 9:02 AM at the Pt Arena tide gauge. Saltwater inundation will be possible 1 to 2 hours before and after high tide. * IMPACTS...Impacts could include, but are not limited to, flooding along sections of highway 1, along with several beaches and parking lots. Up to three quarter foot of saltwater inundation above ground level is possible in low lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways. An area of low pressure is moving onshore over Sonoma and Mendocino counties this morning. Gusty north-northwesterly winds are expected behind this low with gusts between 35 and 45 mph in Mendocino and Lake counties through the early afternoon. Locations impacted include... Air Quality Alert issued December 14 at 9:50AM MST by NWS Phoenix AZ

The Imperial County Air Pollution Control District has declared a mandatory wood burning curtailment for residents within the Calexico area for Saturday, December 14, 2024. The declaration of a Mandatory curtailment, when forecast indicate elevated levels of fine particulate air pollution in the region, is issued to protect the public health. Smoke from wood burning can cause health problems. Breathing high levels of pollution from wood smoke can cause breathing problems (including asthma attacks), worsened lung and heart disease symptoms, and may even increase emergency room visits and hospitalizations. The Mandatory Curtailment rule prohibits the operation of any wood burning appliances during the curtailment period. This prohibition does not apply to cookstoves and those devices exclusively gaseous- fueled.
