At 559 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near Vernon, or 11 miles east of Seymour, moving east at 15 mph. HAZARD...Winds in excess of 40 mph and nickel size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... North Vernon, Vernon, and Hayden.

FFWIND The National Weather Service in Indianapolis has issued a * Flash Flood Warning for... East Central Jackson County in south central Indiana... Central Jennings County in southeastern Indiana... * Until 830 PM EDT. * At 535 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 0.5 and 1.75 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1.5 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... * WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...Portions of Southwest Indiana, including the following counties, Posey, Vanderburgh and Warrick. * WHEN...Until 715 PM CDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 414 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream flooding. Between 0.5 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Evansville, Mount Vernon, Boonville, Newburgh, Chandler, Melody Hill, Darmstadt, Poseyville, Lynnville, Cynthiana, Kasson, Blairsville and Elberfeld.

...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Indiana... East Fork White River at Seymour. .Rainfall of two to three inches over parts of the East Fork White basin Tuesday and Tuesday night will bring minor flooding to the East Fork White at Seymour beginning early this evening. Rainfall amounts around half an inch tonight in this basin are included in this forecast. Rain amounts higher than half an inch in this basin would increase the crest height as well as potentially produce flooding at more points along the East Fork White. Those with interests along area rivers and streams should monitor forecast updates. * WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...East Fork White River at Seymour. * WHEN...From this afternoon to early Saturday morning. * IMPACTS...At 15.6 feet, Jackson County Sheriff additional roads closed: CR 25 N through Honeytown, Slab Road between the river and Ewing, Rockford Road near the skating rink, SR 235 from Medora to SR 135. All these closings found in the republic.com site published in Columbus, IN. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 12:45 PM EDT Wednesday the stage was 9.9 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage late this afternoon to a crest of 15.4 feet tomorrow morning.
