Coastal Flood Advisory issued October 12 at 2:06AM EDT until October 12 at 8:00PM EDT by NWS Wilmington NC

* WHAT...Up to one half foot of inundation above ground level expected in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways. * WHERE...The lower Cape Fear River including downtown Wilmington. * WHEN...From 4 PM this afternoon to 8 PM EDT this evening. * IMPACTS...The lowest portions of USS North Carolina Road and Battleship Road begin to observe minor coastal flooding. Water begins to spread out of storm drains onto Water Street just south of Market Street in downtown Wilmington. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Affected areas listed are based on average tide conditions. Additional locations may experience flooding during periods of heavy rainfall, high winds, or other factors.

...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in North Carolina... Neuse River At Kinston affecting Jones and Lenoir Counties. For the Neuse River...including Kinston...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Neuse River at Kinston. * WHEN...Until Monday evening. * IMPACTS...At 14.0 feet, Water overflows into lowlands adjacent to the river. Water access docks are also affected. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 8:15 PM EDT Friday the stage was 14.4 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 8:15 PM EDT Friday was 14.7 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage early Monday afternoon and continue falling to 13.6 feet Wednesday evening. - Flood stage is 14.0 feet. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
