Relative humidity values will drop as low as 25 to 30 percent along with south to southwest winds gusting up to 30 mph across west central and north central Minnesota. Given the dry fuels, near critical fire weather conditions are expected between noon and 8pm. Any fire that does develop has the potential to quickly spread. There is a low chance for a Red Flag Warning upgrade particularly in west central Minnesota. The National Weather Service in Aberdeen has issued a Fire Weather Watch for wind and low relative humidity, which is in effect from Thursday morning through Thursday evening. * AFFECTED AREA...In Minnesota, Traverse and Big Stone. * WINDS...Southwest 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph. * RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 25 percent. * IMPACTS...Any fires that ignite will spread rapidly and become difficult to control or suppress.

Dense Fog Advisory issued April 15 at 1:03PM CDT until April 16 at 10:00AM CDT by NWS Duluth MN

* WHAT...Visibility one quarter mile or less in dense fog. * WHERE...In Minnesota, Carlton and South St. Louis, Southern Cook and Southern Lake Counties. In Wisconsin, Ashland, Bayfield, Douglas, and Iron Counties. This includes the Tribal Lands of the Fond du Lac Band, the northwestern area of the Lac du Flambeau Band, the Grand Portage Reservation, the Bad River Reservation and the Red Cliff Band. Other locations including Madeline Island and the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore. * WHEN...From 10 PM this evening to 10 AM CDT Thursday. * IMPACTS...Low visibility could make driving conditions hazardous. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Fog will develop tonight around Lake Superior and will be dense overnight. The National Weather Service in Sioux Falls has issued a Fire Weather Watch for wind and low relative humidity, which is in effect from Thursday afternoon through Thursday evening. * AFFECTED AREA...In Iowa, Lyon, Sioux, Plymouth and Woodbury. In Minnesota, Lincoln, Lyon, Murray, Nobles, Pipestone and Rock. * WINDS...South 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph. * RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 20 percent. * IMPACTS...Any fire that develops will catch and spread quickly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.
