FFWFGZ The National Weather Service in Flagstaff has issued a * Flash Flood Warning for... Apache County in northeastern Arizona... * Until 515 PM MST. * At 211 PM MST, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing flash flooding. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams, normally dry washes, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Springerville, Lyman Lake State Park, Becker Lake and Lyman Lake. This includes the following highways... Highway 60 between mile markers 377 and 387. Highway 180 191 between mile markers 380 and 381...and between mile markers 386 and 394. This includes the following recreation areas and campgrounds... Lyman Lake Campground. This includes the following creeks, washes and rivers... Coyote Creek, Little Colorado River, Carnero Creek, Vigil Run and Nutrioso Creek.

When a severe thunderstorm warning is issued, the storm may produce damaging winds, large hail, dangerous lightning, and heavy rain. In some cases, heavy rainfall produced by a severe storm can also lead to flash flooding. Do not drive vehicles through flooded areas. The water depth or fast flowing water/mud/debris from a flash flood will make road conditions unsafe.
