Winds should subside briefly this evening to 20 to 25 mph with gusts around 35 mph, but will strengthen again considerably prior to sunrise. A few locations may see temperatures below 32, but a Hard Freeze to 28 degrees is not expected. * WHERE...Eastern Magic Valley, Shoshone/Lava Beds, and Lower Snake River Plain. * WHEN...For the Wind Advisory, until 8 PM MDT Tuesday. Portneuf River at Pocatello affecting Bannock County. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Portneuf River at Pocatello. * WHEN...Until further notice. * IMPACTS...At 10.0 feet, Significant flooding of agricultural land will occur from the Inkom and Blackrock area. Lowland flooding will occur along sections of the river in Pocatello from Portneuf Gap to the Cheyenne Avenue Bridge and downstream of the concrete channel beginning at Sacajawea Park. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 11:45 AM MDT Monday the stage was 9.7 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 11:45 AM MDT Monday was 9.7 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 10.0 feet tomorrow morning. - Flood stage is 8.5 feet. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 10.0 feet on 01/10/1971. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

It will then rise above flood stage late this evening to 4.1 feet tomorrow morning. Expect minor flooding downstream from the dam. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring. This approaches the flood of record. * WHERE...Blackfoot River near Blackfoot (Butte Rd-Ft Hall). * WHEN...Until further notice. * IMPACTS...At 5.8 feet, Lowland flooding possible from Interstate 15 to confluence of the Snake River. Homes and cattle operation near Riverton Road (900 W) bridge just north of Ferry Butte Road (500 S) will start to have water seeping near them.
