At 359 AM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over Clinton, moving east at 20 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... Warsaw, Mount Olive, Bowdens, Beautancus, Kenansville, Faison, and Magnolia.

Patchy fog, locally dense, is possible into early morning Saturday. Visibilities in the most dense pockets of fog will range from 0.25 to 1 mile. If traveling in this area, watch out for sudden reductions to visibility. If driving, slow down, use your headlights, and leave plenty of distance ahead of you.

* WHAT...Dangerous rip currents. * WHERE...The beaches north of Cape Hatteras. * WHEN...From Saturday morning through Saturday evening. * IMPACTS...Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away from shore into deeper water. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The most likely time for strong rip currents to occur is a couple hours either side of low tide, which will occur around noon Saturday.
