* WHAT...For the Lake Effect Snow Warning, the threat has ended, and snow will continue to diminish this evening. For the Winter Storm Watch, heavy lake effect snow possible. Total snow accumulations in excess of 12 inches possible. Winds could gust as high as 45 mph. * WHERE...Crawford, Northern Erie, and Southern Erie Counties. * WHEN...From Wednesday afternoon through late Thursday night. * IMPACTS...Visibilities may drop below 1/4 mile due to falling and blowing snow. Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact the Wednesday morning and evening commutes. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...An Arctic front will cross the region on Wednesday night and could bring a band of heavier snow with quickly deteriorating conditions, including a quick inch or two of snow, visibility of 1/4 mile or less, and wind gusts to 45 mph. Travel could quickly become difficult across the region before lake effect snow bands enter for the rest of the event. Strong wind gusts as high as 45 mph may result in blowing snow and local reductions in visibility. The large snowpack across the region from the recent lake effect event may drift and cause hazardous travel conditions.
