Conditions remain dry during the day with relative humidity dropping to 10 to 15% mid-afternoon. Fuel conditions are dry due to lack of rainfall in the past month as well as the precedent drought status. The combination of weather factors and dry grassland, brush, and timber will lead to critical fire danger and risk of new fire starts and rapid spread. * WIND...West at 20 to 35 mph with gusts to 45 to 50 mph. * HUMIDITY...10 to 15 percent. * EXPERIMENTAL RFTI...5 to 6 Critical in South-Central New Mexico and Far West Texas desert lowlands. * IMPACTS...any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.
