Special Weather Statement

Special Weather Statement issued February 19 at 12:28AM EST by NWS Mount Holly NJ

Strong northwest winds are causing low waters levels along the tidal Delaware River and its tidal tributaries early this morning. The low water levels may cause navigation problems around the time of low tide. Use extra caution to avoid running aground. Water levels are expected to drop to around 2 to 2.5 feet below Mean Lower Low Water. Low tide has already occurred at Reedy Point. Low tide at the Philadelphia Coastal Guard Station occurred at 12:10 AM. Low tide at Trenton occurs at 1:29 AM. The northwest winds are expected to subside into the day Wednesday, however low water levels may still occur near the times of low tide through Wednesday night.

* WHAT...Very cold wind chills as low as 14 below expected. * WHERE...Lackawanna, Luzerne, Pike, Southern Wayne, and Wyoming Counties. * WHEN...Until 8 AM EST Wednesday. * IMPACTS...The cold wind chills as low as 15 below zero could result in hypothermia if precautions are not taken.
