* WHAT...Heavy snow expected above 4000 feet. Total snow accumulations between 10 and 15 inches above 4500 ft. Winds gusting as high as 40 mph. * WHERE...East Slopes of the Oregon Cascades. * WHEN...Until 11 PM PDT Thursday. * IMPACTS...Significant snowfall with periods of heavy snowfall rates will combine with low visibility to create very difficult driving conditions.

In Washington, Northwest Blue Mountains. * WHEN...Until 11 PM PDT Thursday. * IMPACTS...Periods of moderate and heavy snow will combine with low visibilities to create difficult driving conditions. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches.

For the Coquille River...including Coquille...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast to continue through early tomorrow morning. * WHERE...Coquille River at Coquille. * WHEN...Until late tomorrow morning. * IMPACTS...At 21.0 feet, The Coquille River is at flood stage. Expect flooding of farmland and low-lying areas throughout the flood plain along the Coquille River. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 8:45 PM PDT Wednesday the stage was 21.5 feet. - Bankfull stage is 20.0 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 8:45 PM PDT Wednesday was 23.2 feet. - Forecast...The river will oscillate above flood stage with a maximum value of 21.1 feet late this evening. It will gradually fall below flood stage tonight into tomorrow morning. - Flood stage is 21.0 feet. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 21.5 feet on 01/27/1954. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

* WHAT...South winds 20 to 35 mph with gusts of 40 to 55 mph expected. * WHERE...Grande Ronde Valley. * WHEN...Until 2 AM PDT Thursday. * IMPACTS...Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Strongest winds are expected in the southern Grande Ronde Valley.

* WHAT...South winds 25 to 40 mph with gusts up to 60 mph. * WHERE...Foothills of the Northern Blue Mountains of Oregon. * WHEN...Until 2 AM PDT Thursday. * IMPACTS...Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines. Widespread power outages are expected. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The strongest wind gusts between 55 to 60 mph are expected along the base and slopes of the Northern Blue Mountains, with 45 to 55 mph wind gusts expected across the rest of the northern Blue Mountain foothills.

* WHAT...Snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 4 and 14 inches. Winds gusting as high as 45 mph. * WHERE...Elevations above 5000 feet in the southern Oregon Cascades and Siskiyou Mountains. This includes Crater and Diamond Lake, Lake of the Woods, Mt Ashland Ski Area as well as Highways 140, 62, 138 and 230. * WHEN...Until 5 PM PDT Thursday. * IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult to impossible. The hazardous conditions could impact the Wednesday evening and Thursday morning commutes. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...This is the first of two systems. The second system on Friday will also produce impactful weather for the higher terrain.

A series of winter systems move in through the end of the week bringing heavy snow to the Cascades. There are three different disturbances, but will blend into one overall impactful scenario. Snow levels will begin to rise on Friday. * WHAT...Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations up to 15 inches. Accumulations up to 20 inches above 5000 feet. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph. * WHERE...South Washington Cascades and the Northern and Central Cascades of Oregon. * WHEN...From 5 PM this afternoon to 11 PM PDT Thursday. * IMPACTS...Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The bulk of the heaviest snow will fall between 1 AM through 11 AM Thursday.
