...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 11 AM TO 8 PM MDT TODAY FOR PARTS OF EASTERN NM DUE TO STRONG WINDS, LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY AND AN UNSTABLE AIRMASS... .Critical fire weather conditions will return to portions of northeastern and east-central NM today due to strong northwest wind gusts of 35 to 55 mph combining with minimum relative humidity values of 10 to 15 percent. Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly and will be hard to control. Winds will diminish through late day to alleviate critical conditions. * AREA AND TIMING...Central Highlands (Zone 125) and East Central Plains (Zone 126) from 11 AM to 8 PM MDT today. * 20 FOOT WINDS...Northwest winds 25 to 40 mph with gusts of up to 55 mph. * RELATIVE HUMIDITY...10 to 15 percent. * IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly and will be hard to control. Long range spotting and extreme fire behavior will be possible. Outdoor burning should not be done.
