At 258 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a thunderstorm with torrential rainfall near Downtown Asheville, or near UNC-Asheville. This storm was nearly stationary. Locations to be impacted include... Downtown Asheville, West Asheville, North Asheville, Woodfin, Weaverville, B.R. Parkway-East Asheville To Craggy Gardens, Leicester, UNC-Asheville, Enka, and Candler. Torrential rainfall rates up to 3 inches per hour will be possible in these areas.

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of piedmont North Carolina, including the following county, Cleveland. * WHEN...Until 515 PM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 214 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Overflowing poor drainage areas will cause minor flooding in the advisory area. Between 2 and 4 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
