The strongest winds are forecast during the mid to late afternoon hours. There is some question in the duration of the winds however keeping confidence just low enough to preclude from upgrading to a Red Flag Warning currently. * AFFECTED AREA...Fire Weather Zones 013 Sherman, 014 Thomas, 027 Wallace, 028 Logan, 041 Greeley, 042 Wichita, 253 Kit Carson and 254 Cheyenne CO. * TIMING...From Sunday morning through Sunday evening. * WINDS...Southwest 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph. * RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 12 percent. * IMPACTS...Unpredictable fire behavior. The heavy rainfall has ended, but gauges continue to show water rising. * WHERE...A portion of northeast Kansas, including the following counties, Marshall and Nemaha. * WHEN...Until 300 PM CDT. * IMPACTS...Streams continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall. It will take several hours for all the water from these storms to work through local drainage systems in urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1214 PM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Flooding is already occurring in the warned area. Between 4 and 6.5 inches of rain have fallen. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Marysville, Sabetha, Seneca, Blue Rapids, Frankfort, Waterville, Centralia, Axtell, Beattie, Corning, Goff, Vermillion, Oneida, Lillis, Baileyville and Woodlawn.
