Relative humidity values will briefly drop to around 25 percent along with winds gusting to 30 mph later this morning through the early afternoon. Given dry fuels, near critical fire weather conditions are expected late this morning into the early afternoon. Any fire that does develop has the potential to quickly spread. Windy conditions will develop today with easterly gusts of 30 to 45 mph expected by afternoon. Humidity values will be from 30 to 40 percent. The humidity will increase over the Brainerd Lakes, Aitkin, Walker, and McGregor areas this afternoon as an area of rain moves north. The windy conditions and lower humidity values could lead to the rapid spread of fires prior to the arrival of the rain. Check burning restrictions and fire danger before burning.
