* WHAT...High wave action, strong currents, and dangerous swimming conditions expected. Piers may be heavily swamped by waves. * WHERE...Mason, Oceana, Muskegon, Ottawa, Allegan and Van Buren counties. * WHEN...Until noon EDT today. * IMPACTS...Strong currents can pull swimmers into deeper water and high waves can sweep people off piers. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Westerly winds of 15 to 25 mph will build waves this morning into the 3 to 6 foot range. Dangerous waves and currents are expected this morning, especially early. By noon, conditions should improve.

* WHAT...Dangerous swimming conditions due to 3-5 ft waves and rip currents. * WHERE...Benzie, Manistee and Southeast Chippewa Counties. * WHEN...Through this evening. * IMPACTS...Strong currents can pull swimmers into deeper water and high waves can sweep people off piers. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Cold water temperatures could lead to hypothermia if anyone enters the water unprepared or unintentionally.

Waves in rapid succession can tire swimmers quickly. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Current related fatalities and rescues in the past have occurred due to similar wave conditions at locations listed below: For Southern Schoolcraft County: Near Lakeview Park and Seul Choix Point.
