Special Weather Statement issued November 11 at 7:00AM EST by NWS Charleston WV
Icy spots remain on roadway surfaces this morning, especially on bridges and overpasses, from snowfall since Monday. Light overnight snowfall covered icy spots and has exacerbated the wintry driving conditions. In addition, snow showers still around this morning will gradually end, but in the meantime, they can still bring light additional accumulations and briefly reduce visibility. Slow down, especially when approaching bridges or overpasses, and avoid sudden changes in speed and direction.

Special Weather Statement issued November 10 at 2:34PM EST by NWS Blacksburg VA
Snow showers are possible tonight through Tuesday morning. Affected locations may see any bridges, walkways, and perhaps a few roads become icy once precipitation begins to fall and temperatures drop overnight. The first snow of the season is usually the most impactful for drivers. Slick spots will likely develop on roadways, especially bridges and overpasses. If you are traveling and encounter adverse winter driving conditions, reduce speed and make sure headlights are on.
