Flood Advisory issued July 13 at 11:58PM MDT until July 14 at 2:00AM MDT by NWS El Paso Tx/Santa Teresa NM

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of south central New Mexico, including the following counties, Dona Ana and Otero. * WHEN...Until 200 AM MDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas, along US 70, east of San Augustine Pass and west of White Sands National Park. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1158 PM MDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall of up to 0.5 to 1 inch is expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that may experience flooding include... White Sands National Park. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

At 1142 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong thunderstorms 8 miles northeast of White Sands Missile Range Main Post, moving southwest at 15 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and penny size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... White Sands National Park, White Sands Missile Range Main Post, Portions of Jornada Experimental Range, Lake Lucero, and Portions of Organ Mountains Desert Peaks National Monument. This includes Highway 70 in New Mexico between mile markers 166 and 193.

Flood Watch issued July 13 at 8:45PM MDT until July 14 at 9:00PM MDT by NWS Albuquerque NM

The Flash Flood Watch will expire for a portion of central New Mexico, including the following area, South Central Mountains. This includes the Ruidoso area burn scars. The flash flooding threat has ended. Therefore, the Flash Flood Watch will expire at 9 PM MDT this evening.
