Minnesota River at Montevideo affecting Chippewa, Yellow Medicine and Lac qui Parle Counties. Minnesota River at Savage affecting Dakota, Hennepin, Carver and Scott Counties. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Minnesota River at Savage. * WHEN...Until late Saturday evening. * IMPACTS...At 702.0 feet, Barge loading affected at Port Cargill, and other flood prevention measures are begun. Water begins to impact Black Dog Road in Burnsville. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1000 AM CDT Thursday, the stage was 702.9 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 1000 AM CDT Thursday was 703.1 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage early Saturday morning and continue falling to 699.2 feet Thursday, June 20. - Flood stage is 702.0 feet. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 702.8 feet on 10/01/1986.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph. SOURCE...Automated weather observations. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Rochester, Dodge Center, Mantorville, Kasson, Stewartville, Byron, Chatfield, Eyota, Hayfield, Oronoco, Elgin, West Concord, Dover, Brownsdale, Claremont, Fountain, Fillmore, Marion, High Forest, and Lansing. People attending Thursdays Downtown in Rochester should prepare for gusty winds. This includes Interstate 90 in Minnesota between mile markers 195 and 232.
