* WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of southwest Missouri, including the following county, Greene. * WHEN...Until 445 AM CDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Overflowing poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1239 AM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms over central and southern Springfield. This will cause urban and small stream flooding. Overflowing poor drainage areas will also cause minor flooding in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. - This includes the following low water crossings... Wilson Creek at Farm Road 156, Wilson's Creek at Farm Road 150 and Wilson Creek at Farm Road 146. Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... At 1224 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated that much of the heavy rain had ended across the warned area. However, it will take some time for waters to recede. The area around Spencer Creek is likely to see significant rises in water levels overnight. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Hannibal, Bowling Green, Vandalia, Louisiana, New London, Laddonia, Frankford, Farber, Curryville, Spencerburg, Ashburn, Saverton and Ilasco.
