Special Weather Statement issued May 26 at 7:19PM CDT by NWS Green Bay WI

A large areas of showers and embedded thunderstorms will move across the Fox Valley and Green Bay, east to the lakeshore this evening. Rainfall rates in the heavier showers and storms may be from 1 to 2 inches per hour, resulting in urban street flooding and ponding of water on highways. The heavy rain may also lead to poor visibilities for motorists. Some locations that will see the heavier rain: Hortonville, Omro, Winneconne, Oshkosh, Appleton, Green Bay, Chilton, Brillion, Wrightstown, Kewaunee, Algoma, Manitowoc and Reedsville. If you are planning to travel this evening, slow down to avoid hydroplaning.

* WHAT...Visibility one quarter mile or less in dense fog. * WHERE...In Minnesota, Northern Aitkin, Pine, South Aitkin, Carlton and South St. Louis, Central St. Louis, Northern Cook and Lake, and Southern Lake Counties. In Wisconsin, Ashland, Bayfield, and Douglas Counties. This includes the Tribal Lands of the Bad River Reservation, the Red Cliff Band, the Fond du Lac Band, the Bois Forte Band, Lake Vermilion area and the Mille Lacs Band, Hinckley, Lena Lake, Big Sandy Lake and, East Lake areas. Recreation spots such as Madeline Island and the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore.
