Water inundates the Trent River Campground. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 7:45 PM EDT Friday the stage was 14.9 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 7:45 PM EDT Friday was 14.9 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 15.0 feet just after midnight tonight. For the Tar River...including Greenville...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Tar River at Greenville. * WHEN...From Saturday afternoon to late Wednesday morning. * IMPACTS...At 13.0 feet, Minor flooding of low lying areas adjacent to the river can be expected. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 8:00 PM EDT Friday the stage was 12.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage tomorrow afternoon to a crest of 13.9 feet Monday evening. * WHAT...Up to one half foot of inundation above ground level expected in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways. * WHERE...The lower Cape Fear River including downtown Wilmington. * WHEN...From 1 AM to 5 AM EDT Saturday. * IMPACTS...The lowest portions of USS North Carolina Road and Battleship Road begin to observe minor coastal flooding. Water begins to spread out of storm drains onto Water Street just south of Market Street in downtown Wilmington.

Beach Hazards Statement issued July 26 at 8:00PM EDT until July 27 at 8:00PM EDT by NWS Wilmington NC

* WHAT...Strong north to south longshore current. * WHERE...Coastal New Hanover County. * WHEN...From 6 AM EDT Saturday through Saturday evening. * IMPACTS...Longshore currents can sweep swimmers and surfers into rip currents, piers, jetties, and other hazardous areas. It may sweep swimmers off their feet, making it difficult to return to shore.
