* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of west central Texas, including the following county, southwestern Irion. * WHEN...Until 430 PM CDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 225 PM CDT, National Weather Service radar indicated showers and thunderstorms with heavy rain over southwestern Irion County. These were moving very little. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Rainfall of 1 and 1.5 inches has already fallen, and up to an additional inch of rain is expected. - The additional rain will result in minor flooding of arroyos, low water crossings and low-lying areas, along with street flooding in Barnhart. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... For the Guadalupe River...including Bloomington...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Guadalupe River near Bloomington. * WHEN...Until early Friday morning. * IMPACTS...At 20.0 feet, Minor lowland flooding occurs, with the flow reaching the right flood plain near the Invista Plant near Bloomington. Downstream above Highway 35, the flow escapes into the left flood plain cutting off the lowest homes. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1:00 PM CDT Wednesday the stage was 20.7 feet. - Bankfull stage is 20.0 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 1:00 PM CDT Wednesday was 20.7 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 20.8 feet late this afternoon.
