...Flood Advisory In Effect for Botetourt and Southern Rockbridge Counties in West Central Virginia Until 400 AM EDT This Morning... * WHAT...Minor flooding as the result of heavy rainfall. * WHERE...Botetourt and southern Rockbridge Counties in West Central Virginia. * WHEN...Until 400 AM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Overflowing poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 101 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to showers and thunderstorms between Iron Gate, Eagle Rock, and Natural Bridge. Overflowing poor drainage areas have already caused minor flooding in Iron Gate and Eagle Rock. Between 1.5 and 3 inches of rain have fallen near Iron Gate and Eagle Rock and additional rainfall in excess of 1 inch is possible during the next hour. - This includes the following streams and drainages... Broad Creek, Back Creek, Back Run, Buffalo Creek, Cornelius Creek, Elk Creek, Allen Creek, Davidson Run and Big Hollow Branch. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected over the area.
