Dry conditions and gusty winds will lead to near-critical fire weather conditions Saturday. West winds in the morning will turn northwesterly behind a cold front. Sustained winds of 10 to 15 mph with gusts of 20 to 25 mph are forecast. Minimum relative humidity values of 20 to 30 percent are also expected. Together, these conditions could lead to the rapid spread of fires. Check burning restrictions and fire danger before burning. * WHAT...Flooding caused by rain and snowmelt continues. * WHERE...In Minnesota, far northwest Lake County and far northern St. Louis County. * WHEN...Until 345 PM CDT Tuesday. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Some low-water crossings may become impassable. River or stream flows are elevated. Lake levels are elevated. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1202 PM CDT Friday, Minor flooding is already occurring and will continue. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches forecast over the area Sunday night through Tuesday. - This includes the following streams and drainages... Portage River, Oyster River, Shohola Creek, Ge-be-on-e-quet Creek, Moose River, Heritage Creek, Horse River, Nugget Creek, Wolfpack Creek, Legend Creek, Range Line Creek, Jeanette Creek and Hustler River. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Basswood Lake, northwestern Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness, Lake Agnes, Crooked Lake, Fourtown Lake, Lac la Croix, Lac La Croix and Loon Lake. - Flood safety information can be found at www.weather.gov/safety/flood.
