* WHAT...Dangerous rip currents. * WHERE...The beaches north of Cape Hatteras. * WHEN...From Saturday morning through Saturday evening. * IMPACTS...Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away from shore into deeper water. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The most likely time for strong rip currents to occur is a couple hours either side of low tide, which will occur around noon Saturday.

At 746 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from near Harrisburg to near Marshville. Movement was east at 20 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts in excess of 30 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Wadesboro, Ansonville, Fairview In Union County, Polkton, Locust, Norwood, Oakboro, Stanfield, Peachland, and Finger.
