Flood Warning issued May 19 at 11:38PM CDT until May 20 at 10:30AM CDT by NWS Wichita KS

* WHAT...Flooding caused by Sunday evening's excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of Central Kansas, including the following counties, Barton, Ellsworth, Lincoln and Russell. * WHEN...Until 1030 AM CDT Monday. * IMPACTS...Flooding of various creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is likely. Some roads and low-water crossings will likely remain flooded overnight. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1133 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated the threat for widespread heavy rainfall has ended over central Kansas. However, excessive runoff from very heavy rainfall Sunday evening will likely support continued flooding concerns in the warned area overnight. - Some locations that may experience flooding include... Russell, Ellsworth, Wilson, Kanopolis, Holyrood, Sylvan Grove, Geneseo, Dorrance, Lorraine, Milberger, Bunker Hill, Susank, Wilson State Park, Ellsworth Airport, Wilson Lake, Odin, Russell Airport, Kanopolis Lake and Kanopolis State Park.

* WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of east central Kansas, including the following counties, Shawnee and Wabaunsee. * WHEN...Until 130 AM CDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1022 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Topeka, Rossville, Tecumseh, Richland, Dover, Silver Lake, Auburn, Maple Hill, Willard, Pauline, Berryton and Keene. - This includes the following highways... Interstate 70 between mile markers 338 and 355. Kansas Turnpike between mile markers 167 and 185.
