New England Traffic Alerts

The Travel Alert has been extended to north east North Dakota due to strong winds, low visibility, blowing and drifting snow. Cities included in the Travel Alert are Grand Forks, Cavalier, Michigan, Cooperstown, Buxton and surrounding areas. Conditions are such that motorists can still travel in these areas, but should be advised of rapidly changing conditions. No Travel Advisories are in effect for Bismarck/Mandan, Williston, Jamestown, Valley City and surrounding areas. Motorists should take NO TRAVEL ADVISED seriously as those motorists who choose to travel at their own risk may become stranded and emergency responders may not be able to reach them safely   Start Date: 12/5/2016 5:30:00 PM

Conditions are such that motorists can still travel in these areas, but should be advised of rapidly changing conditions. Both eastbound and westbound lanes of I-94 are closed from Dickinson to Jamestown with the exception of the Bismarck/Mandan Metro Area due to the roadway becoming blocked with heavy snow drifts at overhead structures and vehicles blocking the roadway. In addition conditions include extreme ice, compacted snow and blowing and drifting snow causing long stretches of icy roads and near zero visibility at times creating hazardous driving conditions.    Start Date: 12/5/2016 5:30:00 PM
NDHP has restricted travel until further notice for all permitted over-dimensional vehicles in the following areas, McKenzie, Williams, Mountrail, Divide and Burke counties. For all other high-profile and long-load type vehicles, weather may affect travel. Take notice of changing conditions. North Dakota law restricts travel for these vehicle types when inclement weather causes the vehicle or attachment to swerve, whip, sway, or fail to follow in the path of the towing vehicle.   Start Date: 12/5/2016 1:15:00 PM

The Cantapeta Creek bridge north of Cannonball will remain closed to traffic until further notice. During the closure motorists need to use alternate routes.   Start Date: 11/7/2016 8:15:00 AM
