FAQs
Q) How often is the map updated?
A) The traffic flow is updated at loadtime and upon movement outside the initial map view, or upon refresh of the page. Any incident markers are checked for updates approximately every 5-10 minutes, but you need to reload the page to load any new updates; the data provided may still be the same status/view as before. Information shown is as only reliable as how it is reported to us.

Q) The roads are backed up or closed, but the map does not show the reason why, what's the deal?
A) Municipal traffic monitors or GPS trackers may not be available, could be offline, or reports and alerts are not syndicated to media outside of the area to use on the map. This is especially true for rural areas. You are encouraged to leave a road conditions report to help others.

Q) I see traffic alerts in the box below for the state, but they aren't related to the area I'm in?
A) We attempt to display alerts as specific to the area as possible, however in some cases the data we receive will only allow us to provide it by county or even statewide.

Q) Are you an official source of traffic information?
A) We are not an official source of traffic or real-time data. We have contracts and licenses to display certain up-to-date information that comes direct from some DOTs in various states, and the traffic flow on the maps is provided by Google or MapQuest. However, the data shown here should only be used for light informational and reference purposes and not to make critical decisions. Your safest option on the web is to use your state-run traffic website, or to call the DOT traffic line for your state, local authorities, or the state's 511 number if available.

Title: New Mexico 118 eastbound and westbound from mile marker 29 to mile marker 33 Wingate
Description: NM 118 is closed in both directions from mile marker 29-33 (from Jct. NM 566/NM 118 to west of Iyanbito) due to maintenance work. Please use Exit 26 for access west of NM 566 or Exit 36 for access at Iyanbito area. All work will be performed weekdays from 7am to 5:30pm ending on Friday, 10/31/14. Please drive with caution, reduce speed and obey all posted traffic signs. This event will be updated as conditions change.

Title: US 285 from mile marker 248 to mile marker 250
Description: The New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) began work on the U.S. 285/ I-40 interchange at Clines Corners on September 2, 2014. This improvement work includes the lengthening and realignment of the westbound exit ramp, the realignment of the westbound entrance ramp, and the lengthening of the eastbound on and off ramps on I-40. The U.S. 285 bridge over I-40 will be widened 24 feet to accommodate two lanes of traffic each way. The work on U.S. 285 from mile marker 248.84 to mile marker 250.46 includes the reconstruction and widening of the existing lanes to accommodate two lanes of traffic each way. Other work on the project includes new drainage structures, new curb and gutter, new signing and the installation of an intelligent transportation system. Traffic Impacts: Motorists can expect minor delays due to a flagging operation on U.S. 285 at mile marker 249, Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. There will be intermittent lane closures on I-40 eastbound and westbound lanes at Clines Corners. Drivers are urged to proceed with caution through the work zone, observe traffic control signs and reduce speed to the posted limit.

Title: Interstate 25 northbound and southbound from 1.2 miles West of CANONCITO exit at mile marker 293 to 0.1 miles West of CANONCITO exit at mile marker 294
Description: Santa Fe – The New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) began bridge replacement work on I-25 north of Santa Fe at Canoncito between mile markers 293 and 294 on April 7, 2014. The scope of the project includes bridge rehabilitation, roadway and ramp reconstruction, and pavement rehabilitation for 1.42 miles within Santa Fe County. Tom Griego is the NMDOT Project Engineer. AUI is the contractor for this project. Traffic Impacts: Starting May 21, the cross road under I-25 (Sleeping Dog Road) will be CLOSED. Local traffic and residents on the south side of I-25 will be detoured to the Valencia Exit 297 to access I-25 South. Local traffic and residents on the north side of I-25 (Old Las Vegas Highway) will be detoured to the Lamy Exit 290 to access I-25 northbound and southbound. The Sleeping Dog Road closure will be in effect until November 2014. -I-25 southbound traffic will be switched over to the northbound lanes. The northbound and southbound lanes will be reduced to one lane through the work zone. The lane closures will be in effect through June, 2014. -Motorists can expect minor delays. The posted speed limit is 55 mph through the work zone. There is a 12 foot width restriction in effect. NMDOT urges motorists to proceed through the work zone with caution, watch for construction personnel, observe traffic control signing and reduced speed to the posted speed limit.

Title: Interstate 25 southbound at mile marker 79 (T OR C NORTH), -Select Lane- lane closed.
Description: The NMDOT with Villalobos Construction continue with bridge rehabilitation over I 25. Traffic will encounter lane, speed and width restrictions within the workzone. Motorists will be advised to access exit 83 Elephant Butte, or exit 75 South entrance to T or C. The northbound off ramp will be open. However the southbound off rmap will be CLOSED throughout the durationof the project. The scope of work will consist of replacing concrete deck, approach, metal barrier, and repair existing abutments, pier and wing walls. Please proceed with caution and follow traffic control as posted.

Title: New Mexico 423 from mile marker 4 to mile marker 6
Description: Wednesday 10/29 from 7 pm to 6 am each evening I_25 northbound from Montgomery to San Mateo will have the 2 right lanes closed. The Montgomery onramp and the San Mateo off ramp will also be closed during this time. Wednesday 10/29 from 7 pm to 6 am each evening The I_25 northbound frontage road from Paseo Del Norte to Alameda will be closed. Wednesday 10/29 from 7 pm to 6 am each evening I_25 southbound from Paseo Del Norte to Ellison will be closed. Wednesday 10/29 and Thursday 10/30 from 7 pm to 6 am San Antonio both directions under I_25 will be closed. Thursday 10/30 from 7 pm to 6 am - I_25 northbound from San Mateo to Alameda will be closed. Thursday 10/30 from 7 pm to 6 am - I_25 southbound from Alameda to Ellison will be closed. Thursday 10/30 from 7 pm to 6 am Ellison eastbound at the southbound frontage road will have the right lane closed. Ongoing and until further notice Paseo Del Norte westbound will not have access to Jefferson. Ongoing and until further notice (Kiewit) The I_25 northbound frontage road from San Mateo/Osuna to just past Forest Hills will be reduced to one lane only. All lanes are restored just after Forest Hills. Ongoing and until further notice (Kiewit) The I_25 northbound frontage road before Paseo Del Norte will be reduced to one lane. Frontage road traffic must merge with I_25 northbound off ramp traffic.

Description: I-25 - Seaton Village- 10 TON WEIGHT LIMIT - There is a 10 ton weight limit restriction onver the bridge . Motorists are advised to observe weight limit restriction. This event will be in effect until further notice.
