Q) How often is the map updated?
A) The traffic flow is updated at loadtime and upon movement outside the initial map view, or upon refresh of the page. Any incident markers are checked for updates approximately every 5-10 minutes, but you need to reload the page to load any new updates; the data provided may still be the same status/view as before. Information shown is as only reliable as how it is reported to us.

Q) The roads are backed up or closed, but the map does not show the reason why, what's the deal?
A) Municipal traffic monitors or GPS trackers may not be available, could be offline, or reports and alerts are not syndicated to media outside of the area to use on the map. This is especially true for rural areas. You are encouraged to leave a road conditions report to help others.

Q) I see traffic alerts in the box below for the state, but they aren't related to the area I'm in?
A) We attempt to display alerts as specific to the area as possible, however in some cases the data we receive will only allow us to provide it by county or even statewide.

Q) Are you an official source of traffic information?
A) We are not an official source of traffic or real-time data. We have contracts and licenses to display certain up-to-date information that comes direct from some DOTs in various states, and the traffic flow on the maps is provided by Google or MapQuest. However, the data shown here should only be used for light informational and reference purposes and not to make critical decisions. Your safest option on the web is to use your state-run traffic website, or to call the DOT traffic line for your state, local authorities, or the state's 511 number if available.

Title: New Mexico 28 eastbound and westbound from NM 28/MESILLA exit at mile marker 30 to NM 28/MESILLA exit at mile marker 29, left lane closed.
Description: The District One office for the New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) with La Calerita Construction continues with bridge work at Avenida de Mesilla. East and westbound traffic has been switched to the eastbound lanes. Traffic restrictions will remain. The I10 Avenida de Mesilla on ramp is CLOSED. All remaining ramps are open.Motorists will encounter lane restrictions on NM-28/Avenida de Mesilla between Hickory Loop and Lakeside Drive, and on I-10 between Motel Boulevard and University Avenue. Traffic alerts are posted throughout the work zone advising motorists of detours as outlined in the contractors’ schedule. Motorists will be able to gain access to the City of Las Cruces and the Town of Mesilla at Motel Boulevard exit 139, or University Avenue exit 142 for both east and westbound I-10 traffic.

Title: Interstate 40 eastbound and westbound from mile marker 197 to mile marker 209
Description: Moriarty - Moriarty - NMDOT continues construction on the Moriarty West Interchange (Exit 194) and on the I-40 roadway improvement. The interchange work will consist of removing the old concrete and replacing it with new concrete. The Moriarty West Interchange work is anticipated to be completed by end of August 2014, weather permitting. The I-40 roadway rehabilitation work will consist of removing the top 3.5 inches of pavement and replacing it back through a mill and inlay process. -The roadway rehabilitation work will be located on the I-40 east and west bound lanes from mile marker 197 to mile marker 209.4 just east of Moriarty. Traffic Impacts: As of Friday May, 16 the I-40 Moriarty East Bound Exit 194 off-ramp has been RE-OPENED. -Starting Sunday, May 18 the I-40 Moriarty Westbound Exit 194 off-ramp will be CLOSED. The closure will remain in effect for 45 days and is scheduled to be RE-OPENED on July 1. Motorists can use the I-40 on ramp two miles east at (Exit 197) -The roadway rehabilitation work will include intermittent lane closures on I-40 east and west bound lanes Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. The speed limit has been reduced to 55 mph through the work zone. NMDOT Project Engineer is Habib Abi-Khalil. Contactor is Mountain States Constructors, Inc. NMDOT urges motorists to proceed through the work zone with caution, watch for construction personnel, observe traffic control signing, and reduced speed to the posted speed limit.

Title: New Mexico 244 eastbound and westbound from mile marker 0 to mile marker 29
Description: Project went in to full suspension starting June 9,2014 until further notice. New signage project. The Contractor will be working Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Motorists should watch for equipment and personnel in the workzone and adhere to all construction signage. Traffic may be reduced to one lane with pilot car at random times throughout the work day.
