FAQs
Q) How often is the map updated?
A) The traffic flow is updated at loadtime and upon movement outside the initial map view, or upon refresh of the page. Any incident markers are checked for updates approximately every 5-10 minutes, but you need to reload the page to load any new updates; the data provided may still be the same status/view as before. Information shown is as only reliable as how it is reported to us.

Q) The roads are backed up or closed, but the map does not show the reason why, what's the deal?
A) Municipal traffic monitors or GPS trackers may not be available, could be offline, or reports and alerts are not syndicated to media outside of the area to use on the map. This is especially true for rural areas. You are encouraged to leave a road conditions report to help others.

Q) I see traffic alerts in the box below for the state, but they aren't related to the area I'm in?
A) We attempt to display alerts as specific to the area as possible, however in some cases the data we receive will only allow us to provide it by county or even statewide.

Q) Are you an official source of traffic information?
A) We are not an official source of traffic or real-time data. We have contracts and licenses to display certain up-to-date information that comes direct from some DOTs in various states, and the traffic flow on the maps is provided by Google or MapQuest. However, the data shown here should only be used for light informational and reference purposes and not to make critical decisions. Your safest option on the web is to use your state-run traffic website, or to call the DOT traffic line for your state, local authorities, or the state's 511 number if available.

Espanola Traffic Alerts
Title: US 285 from mile marker 248 Fying C Ranch to mile marker 250
Description: The New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) continues work on the U.S. 285/ I-40 interchange at Clines Corners. This improvement work includes the lengthening and realignment of the westbound exit ramp, the realignment of the westbound entrance ramp, and the lengthening of the eastbound on and off ramps on I-40. The U.S. 285 bridge over I-40 will be widened 24 feet to accommodate two lanes of traffic each way. The work on U.S. 285 from mile marker 248.84 to mile marker 250.46 includes the reconstruction and widening of the existing lanes to accommodate two lanes of traffic each way. Other work on the project includes new drainage structures, new curb and gutter, new signing and the installation of an intelligent transportation system. Traffic Impacts: Starting Tuesday 11/11/14 through Thursday 11/13/14 the Eastbound I-40 lanes will be CLOSED from 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. The I-40 Eastbound lanes are also scheduled to be CLOSED on Monday 11/17/14 through Tuesday 11/18/14 from 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. I-40 traffic will be detoured through the ramps at the Clines Corners Interchange. -Starting on Wednesday 11/19/14 through Thursday 11/20/14, the Westbound I-40 lanes will be CLOSED from 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. The I-40 Westbound lanes are also scheduled to be CLOSED on Monday 11/24/14) through Wednesday 11/26/14 from 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. I-40 traffic will be detoured through the ramps at the Clines Corners Interchange. The night closures are necessary to demolish the overhang on the existing bridge for the plan widening. The contractor will continue work on the project until such time that we get restricted by weather. The subcontractor working on the bridge rehabilitation and widening, will continue their work through the winter. Drivers are urged to proceed with caution through the work zone, observe traffic control signs and reduce speed to the posted limit.

Description: Roads are wet with light snow flurries. Snow is not sticking but as the temperatures drop the roads may become icy and slippery. Crew is plowing, salting and cindering.

Description: NM 136 Pete Domenici Hwy near Sunland Park is experiencing high volumes of traffic during the morning hours at the Santa Teresa Port of Entry. Title: Interstate 25 southbound at mile marker 79 (T OR C NORTH), -Select Lane- lane closed.
Description: The NMDOT with Villalobos Construction continue with bridge rehabilitation over I 25 at the north bridge for Truth or Consequences. Traffic will encounter lane, speed and width restrictions within the wor kzone. Motorists will be advised to access exit 83 Elephant Butte, or exit 75 South entrance to T or C. The northbound off ramp will be open. However the southbound off rmap will be CLOSED throughout the durationof the project. The scope of work will consist of replacing concrete deck, approach, metal barrier, and repair existing abutments, pier and wing walls. Please proceed with caution and follow traffic control as posted.

Title: Interstate 25 northbound and southbound from mile marker 79 (T OR C NORTH) to mile marker 93
Description: North of Truth or Consequences the NMDOT and Mountain States Constructors have shifted traffic the north and southbound lanes where motorists will travel on the newly constructed bridge for north and southbound movement. Traffic will continue be restrict to 12.5 foot width restrictions between mile markers 88 to 92 as concrete wall barriers are placed. The contractor is currently removed the existing bridge which requires the northbound OFF ramp to be CLOSED at exit 92 due to reconstruction of the northbound lanes, please follow traffic control signage within the work zone. Project is scheduled to be complete by June 2015. Reduce speed and proceed with extreme caution as you travel through this area.

Description: MoriartyThe New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) will begin bridge rehabilitation work at the I-40 Edgewood Interchange (Exit 187) in Edgewood on Monday, October 6, 2014. The bridge improvement work will consist of removing and replacing the bridge approaches, new ITS system and miscellaneous median work. Traffic Impacts: Starting Tuesday 11/11/2014 (Eastbound Lane Switch) - State Police onsite with one officer WB Lanes, one officer EB Lanes 10:00 PM - Switch Traffic to Left lane Eastbound reset remaining signs and barrier for new alignment. Description: Project A300940 /Rio Bravo Isleta Intersection Improvement (Emiliano Martinez Project Manager/AUI Contractor) Project suspended until Spring 2015 N_M 5_00 (Rio Bravo) at Isleta has all lanes restored and in the final configuration. Temperature dependent items needing to be completed will occur in the spring.

Title: US 70 eastbound and westbound from mile marker 149 to mile marker 148 Las Cruces
Description: NMDOT with Sandoval Construction have placed traffic control along US 70 North Main with lane restrictions of 10 foot, and reduction in speed throughout the work zone. Traffic has been switched to the eastbound lanes between North Main and Gallagher Drive, and then split again from Gallagher to Madrid. There will be NO through lane or left turn access on Madrid Street to US 70 North Main effective Wednesday December 10 until Wednesday December 24. The contractor has extended the concrete wall barrier in order to install utility lines. Businesses are open, please contact them for hours of operation. Motorists are encouraged to proceed with caution and expect delay. Please seek an alternate route due to work zone.

Title: New Mexico 460 from mile marker 1 to mile marker 3
Description: In Anthony, NM the NMDOT and Smith and Aguirre are working on installing a storm culvert drain pipe under NM 460 from Miller Street to Landers Drive. The contractor will construct a pond beside the Community Development Center, along with mill and inlay from New Mexico/Texas state line to O'Harra Road/NM 460. The project will also have new ADA compliant features such as sidewalks with landing and turnouts along NM 460.
