Eastern Pacific Tropical Weather Overview
Hurricane Marie is currently located far west of Baja California and is moving northwest. It has strong winds and is producing large ocean waves that will continue to affect the coasts of southwest Mexico, the Baja California Peninsula, and even Southern California, causing dangerous surf and strong currents that can be hazardous for swimmers and boaters. Marie is expected to weaken over the next few days and move further away from land. People in coastal areas should stay updated with local forecasts and be cautious near the ocean due to these hazardous water conditions.

For the eastern and central North Pacific east of 180 longitude:
Active Systems:
The National Hurricane Center is issuing advisories on Hurricane
Lowell, located about 600 miles south-southwest of the Hawaiian
Islands, on Tropical Storm Karina, located about 750 miles
east-northeast of the Hawaiian Islands, and on Hurricane Marie,
located several hundred miles west of the southern tip of the
Baja California Peninsula.
Offshore of Southwestern Mexico:
A trough of low pressure located several hundred miles south of the
coast of southwestern Mexico is producing disorganized showers and
thunderstorms. Gradual development of this system is possible, and a
tropical depression could form during the middle or latter portions
of next week while the system moves generally west-northwestward at
10 to 15 mph.
