Eastern Pacific Tropical Weather Overview
Strong northerly winds are causing very rough seas in the Gulf of Tehuantepec near southern Mexico, with these rough conditions expected to continue through Thursday and increase again later in the week. A weather disturbance a few hundred miles south of this gulf is bringing widespread showers and thunderstorms, and it is likely to develop into a tropical depression soon. This system is moving westward offshore southern Mexico and is causing increasing winds and rough seas, so boaters and coastal visitors should be cautious in these areas. Elsewhere along the coast and further out to sea, conditions range from gentle to moderate winds and seas, generally allowing for typical marine activities without major concern.

For the eastern and central North Pacific east of 180 longitude:
South of Southern Mexico (EP94):
A low-pressure system located a few hundred miles south of the Gulf
of Tehuantepec is producing a large area of showers and
thunderstorms that continue to show signs of organization, and a
tropical depression is likely to form within the next day or so.
This system is expected to move westward to west-northwestward at
around 10 mph during the next few days, remaining well offshore of
southern Mexico. For additional information, including Gale
