Mid-Atlantic Coastal Conditions
Heads up for those traveling along the
US-1 and
I-95 corridors. A strong Nor’easter is impacting our coastal areas from
Atlantic City, NJ to the
Outer Banks, NC. Expect wind gusts over 40 mph, which could cause coastal flooding and beach erosion. If you're driving along the
Garden State Parkway or the
US-64, prepare for possible delays, especially during high tides through Wednesday.
Southwest Rainfall Concerns
Travelers in the Southwest, especially around
Route 66 and
I-40, should be cautious on Wednesday and Thursday. A surge of tropical moisture is expected, bringing heavy showers and thunderstorms. Those driving near
Flagstaff, AZ and
Santa Fe, NM, be on alert for potential flash flooding. Slight risk of excessive rainfall could impact
I-15 and
I-25 as well.
Western and Central Weather Patterns
It's a mixed bag across the West and Central regions. Cooler temps are expected in the West, affecting areas like
Reno, NV and
Salt Lake City, UT. Meanwhile, the Central US from
Kansas City, MO to
Oklahoma City, OK will experience unusually warm temps. No major weather-related traffic disruptions are expected here, but be mindful of higher temperatures if traveling along
I-70 or
I-35 through the weekend.
