Over the next couple of days, the southern Plains are in for some wild weather. The slow-moving cold front will lead to some serious thunderstorms and heavy rain, so if you're traveling along I-35, I-20, or US-287, especially around the Arklatex region, plan for delays. On Wednesday and Thursday, areas from west Texas to the mid-Mississippi Valley will face potential flooding, with road conditions likely to worsen. Late Wednesday through Thursday, the northern Rockies will experience rain with high-elevation snow, impacting I-90 and US-2. By Friday morning, expect a mix of rain and snow in Colorado's Front Range, affecting travel along I-25 and I-70. One more day of sizzling temperatures is on tap for the East Coast on Wednesday, especially along I-95 from the Mid-Atlantic to New England. Cooler air will swoop in by Thursday, bringing much-needed rain from the Ohio Valley down to the Mid-Atlantic. Expect wet roads on I-70, I-80, and I-90, which could mean slower commutes.
