* WHAT...Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations up to 10 to 14 inches for areas of elevation. Winds occasionally gusting as high as 45 mph. * WHERE...Noatak Valley and South Slopes of the Western Brooks Range. * WHEN...Until 10 AM AKDT Saturday. * IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult. Areas of blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility.

* WHAT...South winds 35 to 45 mph with gusts up to 75 mph expected. * WHERE...Eastern Alaska Range North of Trims Camp. * WHEN...From 4 PM this afternoon to 7 AM AKDT Sunday. * IMPACTS...Damaging winds may blow down trees and power lines. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

High Surf Advisory

High Surf Advisory issued October 9 at 3:27AM AKDT until October 9 at 3:00PM AKDT by NWS Anchorage AK

* WHAT...Water levels as high as 1.0 to 2.0 feet above the normal highest tide line, with highest water levels in Kwigillingok and Kongiganak. * WHERE...Kuskokwim Delta Coast. * WHEN...Until 3 PM Friday. * IMPACTS...Nuisance flooding of low lying areas. Coastal erosion is possible. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Strong south winds will push water toward the coast, resulting in elevated water levels and high surf. Water levels will continue to trend lower starting with the high tide this morning, which will occur between 8 AM and 11 AM. Thereafter, water levels further decrease to around Mean High High Water (MHHW), and then dip again below MHHW through Saturday afternoon, alleviating coastal concerns.

* WHAT...High surf expected. Water levels of 2 to 4 feet above the normal high tide line, peaking during high tide. * WHERE...Yukon Delta Coast. * WHEN...From 7 AM Thursday to 4 AM AKDT Saturday. * IMPACTS...Localized beach erosion may occur. Water may approach beach property in Hooper Bay. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...A low in the Western Bering Sea will send a front moving east in the coast, resulting in south to southeast winds ramping up Thursday morning through Friday, before diminishing through Saturday. Sea levels will remain elevated through Friday before gradually subsiding Friday night into Saturday.
